Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is hiring a Bilingual Ophthalmic Assistant to prepare patients, perform tests, and support doctors in a busy ophthalmology clinic. You will collect patient information, operate basic ophthalmic equipment, and ensure a smooth patient flow.

Minimum one year in ophthalmology is preferred; COA/COT is a plus. Flexible Monday-Friday schedule and strong Spanish language skills are required to deliver excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented; reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
• Flexible schedule, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams and gather medical information.
• Perform preliminary tests and measurements with ophthalmic equipment.
• Assist doctors during exams and minor procedures.
• Maintain patient flow by keeping rooms stocked and ready.
• Explain procedures and obtain informed consent when needed.
• Record histories and test results in the EHR.
• Educate patients on ophthalmic conditions and post-visit care.
• Sterilize exam rooms and maintain infection control standards.
