We are seeking a Spanish Speaking Front Desk Medical Assistant (SS FD/MA) to join our team at Women’s Health Clinic in Des Plaines and Western and Diversey locations. This role is essential in ensuring efficient patient reception, administrative support, and clinical assistance. The SS FD/MA will serve as a liaison between patients and providers, contributing to a seamless healthcare experience.

Experience Required:
  • Minimum of 6 months in a similar role
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Fluent in Spanish
Hours of Operation:

This is a part-time position. Scheduled days are every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, with at least three Tuesdays per month. Hours may vary.

Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Reception and Recovery Room:
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out efficiently
  • Verify patient information and insurance details accurately
  • Schedule and manage appointments
  • Address billing inquiries and process payments
  • Follow directions of the OR Nurse Manager
  • Clinical Support:
    • Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness
    • Record vital signs accurately
    • Assist providers with medical procedures
    • Perform basic diagnostic tests as needed
  • Patient Care and Education:
    • Provide patient education regarding procedures and care
    • Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients
  • Documentation and Records Management:
    • Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR)
    • Organize patient records and charts
    • Complete forms related to worker’s compensation and personal injury cases
  • Care Coordination:
    • Coordinate care with other healthcare providers
    • Follow up on referrals and external records
    • Assist in case management and care planning
  • Specialized Tasks:
    • Assist with occupational health assessments and documentation
  • Communication and Coordination:
    • Facilitate communication between staff and providers
    • Act as a liaison for smooth clinic operations
  • Training and Development:
    • Participate in ongoing training sessions
    • Assist in training new staff
  • Quality Assurance and Improvement:
    • Engage in quality improvement initiatives
    • Provide feedback to improve procedures
