Spanish Speaking Center-Based Behavior Technician

Join to apply for the Spanish Speaking Center-Based Behavior Technician role at Centria Autism.

Life Skills Autism Academy is looking for exceptional behavior technicians! Candidates must hold and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) as issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or be willing to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for their RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment. Registered Behavior Technicians help develop children on the Autism Spectrum by providing ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Therapy in a 1:1 setting under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. This therapy aims to increase critical developmental skills such as language, communication, social, and school readiness behaviors.

Pay Range: $19-$20

Behavior Technician Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in the client’s individualized treatment plan built by BCBA/BC.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with the client’s treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Ensure documentation is completed on time following established procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by BCBA/BC.
  • Utilize safe procedures when working with clients and report all critical incidents and safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Assist BCBA/BC in preparing client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition.
Required Qualifications, Skills, And Knowledge:
  • Willing to participate in the company’s background check process if offered employment.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Reliable transportation, and in some cases, proof of driver’s license and valid insurance.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and a TB test if not done in the past year.
  • Physical ability to perform the job, including getting on the floor, lifting up to 50 lbs, and moving quickly if needed for safety.
  • Dependability to attend scheduled therapy appointments.
  • Professional presentation and conduct.
  • Patience and emotional control, even when clients act out.
  • Positive attitude and motivation to help children acquire new skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks precisely.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Proficiency with technology for data recording and navigating digital applications.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Cultural competency, flexibility, and open-mindedness.
Additional Qualifications (not required):
  • Experience as a Behavioral Technician, working with children with autism or other disabilities, Teacher’s Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide.
