Job summary

Qualifications

• High level of fluency in English and Spanish, both oral and written.
• Must hold a certificate of completion substantiating formal training and qualifications for medical interpreting (NCIHC).
• Minimum of three years’ experience in providing medical interpreting in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Medical Interpreting: provides interpreting services for patients, family members and healthcare staff according to NCIHC standards.
• Screens multiple requests for interpreters and prioritizes based on urgency.
• Documents interpretation encounters and maintains records of productivity and requests.
