Job summary

Springfield School District 186 is seeking a Language Interpreter - Spanish for an open-ended, year-long position on an as-needed basis. The role supports the Student Support Services team by providing real-time interpretation during conferences, meetings and family communications.

Ideal candidates will be fluent in English and Spanish, uphold confidentiality, and understand FERPA requirements while bridging cultural differences in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and another language commonly spoken by students or families.
• Strong understanding of cultural contexts to ensure accurate communication.
• Knowledge of FERPA and confidentiality in school settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Parent/Teacher conferences
• Make home calls to parents as needed
• Assist with school meetings with Spanish speaking families
• Other duties as assigned
