Job summary

Tierra Encantada, headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a Classroom Assistant for our Yankee Doodle Infant classroom. This full-time, nonexempt role runs Monday through Friday, with a starting pay range of $17.00 to $19.00 per hour based on education and experience.

Responsibilities include supporting teachers, creating a welcoming classroom, implementing curriculum, observing child development, and preparing for parent conferences.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Spanish.
• Experience in early childhood education with infants to school-age children preferred.
• Strong communication with families and co-workers.
• CPR and pediatric first aid certificate due within 90 days of hire; renewals maintained.

Responsibilities

• Create a fun, welcoming environment for children.
• Develop daily activities aligned with curriculum and learning goals.
• Oversee classroom operations, activities, and cleanliness.
• Assess developmental needs through ongoing observations.
• Implement Tierra Encantada’s curriculum and lesson plans.
• Coordinate with teachers and leadership for parent conferences.
• Maintain classroom decor and seasonal updates.
• Provide parent updates during pickup/drop-off.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure a team environment.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings.
