Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a PRN Spanish Interpreter to provide language access at two Winston-Salem locations. Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1 year related experience required
• Knowledge of medical terminology; healthcare setting experience required
• National medical interpreter certification preferred
• Interpreter Language Assessment completed successfully required
• 40-hour Medical Interpretation Training Program completed within 1 year of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpreting, telephone interpreting, and video interpreting
• Troubleshoot basic software and interpreting tools as needed
• Maintain relationships with internal customers and manage interpreter modalities
• Interpret patient information and education accurately and succinctly
• Consider cultural implications and idiomatic language differences in interpretation
• Educate caregivers about patient culture in relation to healthcare
• Adhere to professional conduct standards and department guidelines
• Translate basic written information as needed
