Kheir Clinic is seeking a Spanish bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Los Angeles to join a multidisciplinary medical and behavioral health team. The role focuses on psychosocial care for patients with chronic and acute diseases and includes brief individual and group psychotherapy, urgent assessments, and program development within a full-service clinic setting.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a California LCSW with current licensure.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience as a licensed clinician.
  • Experience supervising ASWs.
  • Valid California driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Strong written, oral, and public communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and integrate behavioral health services within and outside of Kheir.
  • Maintain protocols for integrated behavioral health across the Kheir network.
  • Assist the primary care provider in recognizing, treating, and managing mental health & psychosocial issues.

Job Description

The LCSW works in tandem with members of the medical and behavioral health team to manage psychosocial aspects of chronic and acute diseases, apply behavioral principles to address lifestyle and health risk issues and provide consultation in the treatment of mental disorders and psychosocial issues. S/he has a solid knowledge of evidence-based behavioral assessments and interventions relevant to medical conditions, e.g., disease management, treatment adherence, and lifestyle changes. S/he is skilled in targeted, brief individual and group psychotherapy sessions and has the ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments. The LCSW is responsible for growing the mental health department through coordinated development opportunities.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Promote and integrate behavioral health services within and outside of Kheir.
  • Maintain protocols and procedures for integrated behavioral health activities across the Kheir network.
  • Assist the primary care provider in recognizing, treating, and managing mental health & psychosocial issues.

  • Monitor and coordinate the department’s delivery of health services for clients as related to behavioral health care, including linking with other treatment providers both within the primary care setting & outside.
  • Coordinate external and internal training for all BH Department staff, including ASW supervision training.
  • Effectively document services to monitor and evaluate quality-improvement benchmarks for the department.
  • Conduct weekly “chart” reviews & train ASWs, if necessary.
  • Ensure compliance in the mandated utilization of e-referral, electronic health records & electronic billing systems.
  • Identify opportunities to increase behavioral health services patient base and visits.
  • Spearhead, develop, and implement marketing strategies and tactics to grow the BH Department.
  • Lead project-related communication with the governmental agencies, i.e. Department of Mental Health.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Valid licensure in California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience as a licensed clinician, working with diverse multi-ethnic communities.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience to supervise & mentor ASWs.
  • Valid California driver’s license and proof of Auto Insurance with daily access to a reliable vehicle.
