Responsibilities

• Set up and open the SPAM Museum for visitors.
• Greet visitors and answer questions about SPAM and Hormel Foods.
• Assist with interactive displays and provide information to guests.
• Prepare samples for visitors and assist with exhibits.
• Perform minor cleaning and straightening as needed.
• Perform basic first aid in emergencies when required.
• Work on a variety of museum-related projects.
• Give 30-45 minute tours of the museum.
• Close the SPAM Museum at the end of the day.

SPAM Museum Visitor Guide (SPAMbassador) - PART-TIME (Austin, MN)

The Visitor Guide is responsible for interacting with visitors to the SPAM Museum. They help the visitors with interactive displays and providing information about SPAM and Hormel Foods as well as answer visitor questions. Additionally, the Visitor Guide is responsible for caring for and upkeep of the SPAM Museum, maintaining the appearance during hours in which it is open to the public. This position also may be required to work evenings and weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sets up and opens the SPAM Museum for visitors.
• Greets visitors to the Museum.
• Answers questions posed in the museum.
• Prepares samples for visitors.
• Will be required to do minimal cleaning/ straightening.
• Performs minor first aide in emergency situations.
• Works on a variety of Museum related projects.
• Gives 30-45 minute tours of the museum.
• Closes the SPAM Museum.

LOCATION AND HOURS:

• Austin, Minnesota
• Position is part time.
• The SPAM Museum is open 7 days a week, some holidays and evenings.
• Typical museum hours:
  • Monday-Saturday 9AM-5 PM and Sunday 10AM–4PM.
  • Events outside of typical museum hours may also be required.
• 4 hour - 6 hour shifts available during typical museum hours

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $12.00 - $16.75 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
