Job summary

JBS Solutions, Inc. in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Thermal Analyst to join the ESSCA contract team. You will develop and execute detailed thermal models for spaceflight hardware and instruments, performing transient and steady-state analyses using Thermal Desktop, Sinda/Fluint, and ANSYS.

You will define thermal requirements, participate in verification planning, and work with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated flight hardware across milestones.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering; or related field with heat transfer or thermal analysis.
• 10+ years in finite element methods using Thermal Desktop and empirical thermal analyses.
• 10+ years of thermal testing experience.
• Technical lead on projects through design, manufacture and operations.
• Knowledge of orbital thermal environment development.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• US citizenship required; E-Verify participation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed thermal models for spaceflight hardware and instruments.
• Perform transient and steady-state thermal analyses using Thermal Desktop, Sinda/Fluint, ANSYS or equivalents.
• Define thermal requirements at subsystem and system levels.
• Conduct thermal verification planning including test planning and model updates.
• Review design artifacts to ensure thermal and system compliance.
• Interface with mechanical, structural, fluids, and systems engineering teams.
• Create formal thermal analysis packages documenting results for milestone reviews.
• Participate in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and hazard analysis.
• Work with program stakeholders and leaders in a team of analysts.
• Support troubleshooting of hardware non-conformances related to thermal behavior.
• Collaborate with outside vendors and NASA centers on integrated flight hardware.
