Job summary

Beyond Reach Labs in New York is seeking a Development Test Engineer to design, build, and operate the test infrastructure that proves our deployable space hardware. You will oversee subassembly-level development testing through full-scale deployment tests, standing up data acquisition systems and test stands.

Your work spans the full development cycle, drafting procedures, performing tests, and translating results into concrete recommendations for design and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1+ years hands-on engineering experience fabricating or operating test hardware, DAQ systems, or test rigs.
• Experience developing test procedures, including ATP/qualification documentation.
• Working knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ownership and ability to work well in small teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and instrument test rigs and stands for deployable mechanisms and hardware.
• Operate test systems across development, acceptance, and qualification testing.
• Develop ATPs and qualification test plans; maintain configuration control.
• Review test data, identify anomalies, and advise design/manufacturing on improvements.
