Job summary

York Space Systems in Austin, TX is seeking a Software Engineer for Simulation, Integration and Test. You will build the models that stand in for a real spacecraft, including dynamics, avionics interfaces, and telemetry to support regression testing and validation against real hardware.

You will collaborate with the Systems Architecture and FSW teams, implement CI/CD practices, and develop mission test scenarios including fault cases, while helping maintain documentation and model validation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and C++.
• Working knowledge of physics-based modeling, numerical methods, or control systems.
• Proficiency with Linux environment and with bash scripting.
• Proficiency with Git and modern Agile software development practices and tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the physics-based simulator for spacecraft dynamics and telemetry.
• Develop new simulation capabilities aligned with new vehicle components.
• Author mission test scenarios including fault and off-nominal cases.
• Build and maintain interface emulator logic.
• Model telemetry accurately to support regression testing.
• Collaborate with Systems Architecture and FSW teams on new components.
