Job summary

Peraton is seeking an RF Engineering Analyst to support a national security program focused on space warfighting missions. You will validate orbital data and perform RF deconfliction against terrestrial and space-based threats, ensuring ground stations and decision-makers are forewarned of RF interference sources.

The role includes developing integrated technical solutions, updating procedures, and training exercise support. A TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated poly is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with adjudicated poly is required.
• 5 years of experience with a BS/BA, 3 years with MS/MA or 9 years in lieu of degree.
• Experience with flight safety tools (STK, ASW) or equivalent.
• Experience with RF deconfliction and space operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform conjunction assessment (CA) and Directed Energy deconfliction screenings regularly and on-demand.
• Create and update procedures for spectrum protection, risk mitigation and deconfliction analysis.
• Support integration of new data sources into legacy and developing systems.
• Improve TTPs for flight safety and mission protection operations; update training materials as needed.
• Maintain system proficiency and awareness of current space domain threat activity.
• Screen pre- and post-launch TLEs and trajectories against latest RSOs to mitigate collisions.
• Operate orbit propagating software, navigate GUIs, and deliver products to owner/operator.
• Participate in inflight safety meetings and training exercises.

As an RFEngineering Analystinsupportofa national security program space warfighting mission, you willbe responsibleforvalidatingthe integrity oforbital dataavailableand performingdirected energy (RF)deconflictionofterrestrial andspace-basedthreatsagainstvulnerableassets.As part of the flight safety engineering team,you willberesponsible forensuringallprogramandsupporting ground stationoperators, plannersanddecision-makersare forewarned againstpotential sources ofRF Interference(RFI)that mayimpedesuccessful mission execution.Additionally, theEngineering Analyst (RF)will develop,maintainanddeconfliction operation productsand create new or updated procedures and checklists as necessary to improveoperating efficiencies and integrate new system capabilities.A successful candidate will developintegrativetechnicalsolutions,supporttrainingandexercise efforts,andcommunicateeffectivelywith leadershipandexternal partner agenciesas appropriate.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with a BS/BA degree, 3 years of experience with a MS/MA degree, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree
• 2+ years of combined experience working in flight safety (CA), RF deconfliction, space operations requiring flight safety system tools (i.e., STK, ASW) oras Systems/Software Engineerforrelevant mission systems
• 2+ years’experience withFlight Safety tools (i.e.,Astrodynamics Support Workstation(ASW)SuperCombotoolorSTK) or STKLevel2certification in lieu ofworkingexperience
• Active TS/SCIwithadjudicatedPoly

Preferred:

• 4+ years of combined experience working in flight safety (CA), RF deconfliction, space operations requiring flight safety system tools or as Systems/Software Engineer
• Advanced understanding of orbital mechanics, flight safety toolsand missionscope
• Understandingof foreign/domestic space & groundthreatcapabilities
• Prior working experience withthe IC
• Experienceworking andcollaborating with military andcivilian leadersof all ranks

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
