Job summary

Lunar Outpost Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Mechanical Analysis Engineer to lead the mechanical analysis team and drive high‑fidelity analyses for spaceflight vehicles. You will develop analytical models, guide design iterations, and ensure compliance with NASA standards across multiple programs.

You will collaborate with design, management, and NASA partners, prepare design reviews, and mentor engineers to deliver high-quality results on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of applicable experience performing mechanical analysis on spaceflight systems.
• Experience leading analysis teams.
• Expertise in Finite Element Modeling software.
• Proficiency in interpreting loading profiles and test data.
• Familiarity with dynamic/kinematic analysis techniques.
• Familiarity with NASA/government specs and standards.
• Familiarity with fatigue and fracture standards and analysis methods.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• U.S. Person.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality analytical models of vehicles/mobility platforms.
• Lead and oversee the mechanical analysis team.
• Interact with engineering design teams to iterate designs based on analysis.
• Coordinate with project management to meet timelines and deadlines.
• Standardize practices and procedures within the analysis team.
• Write technical reports detailing processes, results, and recommendations.
• Allocate resources and delegate tasks across multiple projects.
• Ensure analysis complies with Lunar Outpost and NASA standards.
• Prepare loading profiles for vendors and stakeholders.
• Present materials for TRR, PDR, FRB, and CDR.
• Collaborate with NASA Insight members in recurring sessions.
