Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking an IQC Inspector I/II at our Silver Spring site to inspect mechanical and electrical components for spacecraft assemblies, operate precision tools, and help ensure quality in our Space Systems program. The role supports the Quality Inspector Supervisor and contributes to safe, reliable space hardware.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, familiarity with aerospace inspection tools and assembly tools, and the ability to work in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with common manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with aerospace inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gages, etc.).
• Familiarity with aerospace assembly tools (torque wrenches, force gauges, etc.).
• 2+ years of quality inspection experience for Level II (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical and electrical components before use in spacecraft assemblies.
• Operate CMMs, calipers, micrometers, gages, comparators, and hardness testers.
• Create SOPs for specific mechanical parts.
• Document findings in standardized reports and communicate them clearly.
• Assemble space flight mechanisms per production drawings.
