Job summary

AeroVironment in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an experienced Group Lead to guide a team of Assembly Technicians building space-qualified hardware, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. The role requires hands-on leadership, strict adherence to cleanroom and ESD protocols, and close collaboration with Test, Quality, and Engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience assembling and testing space hardware.
• Experience as a lead or supervisor directing 4+ technicians.
• Expertise in cleanroom assembly, drawings, and flight hardware standards.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily work direction and priority setting for 6–14 technicians.
• Monitor progress of multiple assemblies and reallocate resources to meet milestones.
• Lead hands-on assembly, troubleshoot issues, and verify quality.
• Serve as on-shift technical contact for procedures and discrepancies.
• Coordinate with test, quality, supply chain, and engineering to resolve issues.
