Job summary

Terran Orbital seeks a Spacecraft Thermal Engineer to join a fast-growing team focused on designing, building, launching, and operating advanced satellites. You will lead thermal analysis activities across concept to design reviews, and contribute to verification and operations, mentoring junior engineers as needed.

The role requires a strong background in thermal engineering for spacecraft, familiarity with Thermal Desktop, and proficiency in scripting (MATLAB/Python).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in mechanical or aerospace engineering with a thermal focus.
• Master's degree in thermal field may substitute for experience.
• Experience leading junior engineers and mentoring required.

Responsibilities

• Develop thermal models for active and passive spacecraft systems and predict temperature margins.
• Translate CONOPS into thermal design scenarios with system engineers.
• Create thermal verification test plans and correlate results with models.
• Support build and test campaigns, including on-call periods as needed.
• Prepare technical documents and presentations for managers, customers, and stakeholders.
