Job summary

Xona is seeking a Technical Writer embedded with the program team to document satellite development, testing, and production processes. You will create and maintain ICDs, test procedures, design specs, and review packages while working closely with engineers to translate technical details into clear, actionable documentation.

You’ll develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions and SOPs, spending time on the production floor to ensure guidance is accurate and up-to-date.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of technical writing in aerospace or hardware manufacturing.
• Ability to craft clear work instructions and SOPs for manufacturing.
• Experience extracting content from engineers to produce usable docs.
• Self-directed with ability to manage multiple docs streams in fast-moving environment.
• Willingness to ask questions when requirements are unclear.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain ICDs, test procedures, design specs, and review packages.
• Develop manufacturing work instructions and SOPs; on-floor documentation.
• Coordinate across distributed teams to keep docs consistent.
• Generate and maintain contract deliverable documentation.
• Develop SLA definitions and support on-orbit operations documentation.
