Job summary

Rocket Lab USA, based in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Spacecraft Structural Analysis Engineer II to define loads and environments and to validate designs for Space Systems and Space Components. You will perform detailed simulations, guide design, and ensure performance through testing, reporting to the Vehicle Design Director and Space Systems team.

Applicants should hold a mechanical engineering degree, have at least 2+ years in aerospace structural analysis, and be proficient with NX Nastran, NX

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • 2+ years of structural analysis experience in the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

  • Define, process, and interpret static and dynamic test and flight data.
  • Perform structural analyses of primary and secondary vehicle structures (FEA).
  • Perform structural and dynamic simulations (static, modal, vibration, buckling).
  • Collaborate with design and test engineers to iterate concepts and requirements.
  • Define test requirements and support testing of subsystems and components.
  • Lead technical projects across analysis and disciplines.
