Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Level 2 in Dulles, VA for the Space Sector. You will help architect, test, and manage power generation, storage, and distribution for spacecraft on a 9/80 schedule with some night/weekend work and travel.

Requirements include a Bachelor's with 2 years or a Master’s with 0 years, and active SCI clearance. Strong engineering fundamentals and clear communication are essential as you help lead power subsystem efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 0 years.
• Active SCI clearance required at time of application
• Solid background in electrical engineering
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Broad technical expertise across related disciplines
• Self-starter with drive to close items on schedule

Responsibilities

• Technical, cost and schedule performance of the space vehicle electrical power subsystem.
• Apply electrical engineering principles to improve heritage designs.
• Prepare and present analysis for design reviews and customer meetings.
• Analyze and architect spacecraft power avionics, batteries, and solar arrays.
• Provide subcontractor technical and project management oversight.
• Perform technical trades.
• Support development and testing in Integration & Test.
• Support mission operations post-launch.
• Perform voltage drop, energy balance, fuse sizing and transient analyses.
• Subsystem requirements generation and overall management.
• Analyze on-ground and in-orbit anomalies; report earned value.
• Other duties as assigned.
