Job summary

Varda Space Industries, Inc. is seeking a Mission Operations Engineer II to lead on-orbit missions for the Winnie Spaceship. You will coordinate mission profiles, execute operations, and communicate across engineering teams to ensure flight success.

Ideal candidates have aerospace/system engineering background, 2+ years real-time ops, and experience developing tools in Python/JavaScript/HTML. This on-site role is based in El Segundo, CA, with stock options and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Aerospace/Electrical/CS) is required.
• 2+ years of real-time operations experience in high-consequence systems.
• 1+ years developing software tools in Python, JavaScript, or HTML.
• Familiarity with avionics, GNC, software, and thermal design for spacecraft.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, execute, and lead on-orbit missions.
• Own the full ops development cycle for mission-unique payloads, from profiles to execution.
• Collaborate across teams to improve mission operations and ensure success.
• Automate operations by building web tools.
• Scale operational capabilities to support increasing flight cadence.
