Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. is seeking a Mechanisms Engineer to own a critical spacecraft mechanism subsystem from concept through flight.

Depending on priorities, you may work on HDRMs, solar array deployment, deployable structures, or thermal/radiator mechanisms, collaborating with structures, thermal, power, and avionics teams. You will move quickly, iterate often, and take full ownership of mechanisms that impact mission success, while ensuring performance, manufacturability, and reliability through

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years designing spacecraft mechanisms.
• Experience from concept to build, test.
• CAD and GD&T proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanism subsystem from concept to flight.
• Drive structural and kinematic design for minimum mass.
• Balance performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedule.
• Perform analysis and validate with test and on-orbit data.
• Define and execute qualification and acceptance test campaigns.
• Develop and maintain drawings, models, and release docs.
• Work with manufacturing and AIT on the factory floor.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues and implement improvements.
• Support spacecraft integration, launch ops, and anomaly response.
