Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Integration and Test Engineer to support planning, execution, and documentation of integration and validation for spacecraft components and systems. Relocation assistance is provided to Pittsburgh, PA.

The role involves developing test plans, procedures, and ground support equipment, coordinating with design and systems engineers, and operating test facilities to ensure qualification of hardware for mission needs.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience integrating or testing complex electro-mechanical and/or fluid systems.
  • Experience with technical writing, documentation, and planning.
  • Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and lifecycle management tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support design review and approval from a DFMA and DFT perspective.
  • Support Test Plan development with Systems and Design Engineers.
  • Support Assembly Drawing development with Design Engineers.
  • Write detailed Integration Procedures and Test Procedures.
  • Ensure readiness of items to perform integration or test operations, including parts, tooling, and calibration verification.
  • Design ground support equipment, fixtures, and tooling for integration and test.
  • Hold Integration Readiness Reviews and Test Readiness Reviews.
  • Execute integration and test procedures.
  • Operate test facilities such as Shaker Tables and Thermal Vacuum Chambers.
  • Support off-site operations at third party testing facilities.
  • Process Test Data and write Test Reports.
  • Provide labor and cost estimates for integration and test work.
  • Collaborate with engineers to interpret test results.
  • Work with cross-functional teams across propulsion, thermal, mechanisms, electrical, and structural groups.
