Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies is seeking a Harness Design Engineer Intern for Winter 2027. You will collaborate with the harnessing design team to design flight and test harnessing, and create wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematics, and 3D layout drawings for spacecraft harnessing.

Ideal candidates are currently pursuing a BS/MS/PhD in mechatronics or electrical engineering with an interest in spacecraft systems and familiarity with power and data transmission concepts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS/MS/PhD in mechatronics or electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Interest in spacecraft systems and subsystems.
• Familiar with power and data transmission concepts.

Responsibilities

• Work with the harnessing design team on flight and test harnessing.
• Create wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings of spacecraft harnessing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define interfaces between subsystems.
• Use CAD to route harnessing in 3D.
• Select design components based on voltage, power, frequency, and data-rate requirements.
• Coordinate with Production to fabricate in-house cables.
