Job summary

A leading space technology company located in Hawthorne is seeking a Spacecraft Engineer Intern to develop critical flight software for its spacecraft. The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field, possess strong knowledge of C/C++, and be comfortable in Linux environments. This internship offers opportunities to work on real missions, participate in hands-on development, and contribute to innovative space solutions while being supported by experienced mentors.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• Strong foundational knowledge of C/C++ in an embedded context.
• Prior experience with bare-metal programming or an RTOS.
• Comfortable in an Ubuntu/Linux environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement flight software components within F-prime framework.
• Write and debug software communicating with hardware.
• Maintain and extend CMake build systems.
• Develop unit tests and support testing to ensure code reliability.
