Job summary

True Anomaly, Inc. is seeking a Flight Software Engineer to contribute across design, analysis, manufacturing, test, and flight of space systems. This role offers exposure to autonomous spacecraft, mission software, and space-based interceptors — a fast-paced culture.

This is a 3-month temporary engagement with potential conversion to regular employment based on performance and business need. Onsite work; candidates near Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/CE or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience with low-level firmware architecture, design and development.
• Experience with embedded RTOS and common protocols.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Rust, and Zig.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS422/RS485; UDP/TCP/IP.
• Familiarity with embedded Linux and version control/CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, development, integration, and test for flight computers.
• Integrate GNC algorithms with flight software.
• Define and maintain Command Telemetry Database (CDTB) for ground/test.
• Collaborate with ground C2 software team.
• Assist with command scripting and sequencing of the spacecraft.
• Develop satellite subsystem model simulators in HITL/SITL.
• Develop reusable device drivers and communication protocol libraries.
