Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Spacecraft Systems Engineer to support Worldview Legion operations from Westminster, CO. The role focuses on maintaining spacecraft health, optimizing performance, and developing tools to monitor health metrics.

Requirements include US citizenship with eligibility for Secret clearance, a Bachelor's in engineering/physics, and 2+ years in operations or aerospace. Proficiency in Unix/Linux, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and GitHub is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of operations or aerospace experience.
  • U.S. citizen willing to obtain Secret security clearance.
  • Experience as spacecraft systems engineer (preferred).
  • Proficient in Unix/Linux, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and GitHub.

Responsibilities

  • Support Worldview Legion early operations and sustainment operations by maintaining spacecraft health and safety.
  • Optimize performance and troubleshoot anomalies.
  • Develop tools to trend spacecraft health and performance metrics.
  • Define anomaly resolution processes and procedures.
  • Support design, development, integration, and testing of future spacecraft.
  • Attend design reviews and participate in ground software requirements verification.
  • Provide knowledge of spacecraft operations and operational capabilities.
  • Assist in development and testing of commissioning plans/tools.

Job description

  • Support Worldview Legion early operations and sustainment operations by maintaining spacecraft health and safety
  • Optimize performance and troubleshooting anomalies
  • Develop and maintain tools and methods to trend spacecraft health and performance metrics
  • Develop/refine concept of operations to meet evolving mission demands
  • Define spacecraft anomaly resolution processes and procedures
  • Troubleshoot/resolve/document spacecraft anomalies
  • Assist in development and testing of spacecraft commissioning plans/tools
  • Assist in the development of and participate in Launch and Mission rehearsals
  • Support design, development, integration, and testing of future Vantor spacecraft
  • Define, review, and verify spacecraft requirements
  • Attend design reviews
  • Participate in clean-room integration and testing activities
  • Support other Vantor business segments
  • Provide detailed knowledge of spacecraft operations and operational capabilities
  • Assist in ground software requirement definition, review, and verification
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years of operations or aerospace-related experience
  • Experience as a spacecraft systems engineer or subsystem engineer (preferred)
  • Strong and innovative computer language skills (preferred)
  • Experience with Unix/Linux, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and Github (preferred)
  • Excellent written & oral communicator (preferred)
  • Superb problem-solving skills (preferred)
  • Calm disposition in stressful situations (preferred)
Core Competencies

Demonstrates expertise in spacecraft operations, anomaly resolution, and performance optimization, with strong skills in Unix/Linux, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python. Capable of developing and maintaining tools for spacecraft health metrics and supporting mission operations.
