Job summary

HX5, LLC is seeking a Spacecraft Core Flight Software Engineer (Engineer II) to join the JETSII Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The role requires translating system requirements into software requirements and building interfaces between GFE code and contractor software.

You will develop C and Python software, perform integration testing, and create verification tests. Candidates should have a BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited school, strong C and Python skills

Qualifications

• BS in engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering school.
• Strong C programming skills with recent experience.
• Proficiency with C coding in a Linux environment.
• Strong Python skills with recent experience.
• Familiarity with IDE tools.
• Experience with web-based collaboration tools.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• System and software configuration management experience.
• Good oral and written communication with customers and team members.
• Able to manage multiple actions and time commitments.

Responsibilities

• Decompose system requirements into software requirements.
• Develop a Requirements Traceability Matrix.
• Write software to interface vehicle level GFE code with module level contractor-supplied code.
• Analyze performance of software interfaces and perform integration testing.
• Develop C and Python software to provide required functionality.
• Perform software testing and verification.
• Develop software documentation.
• Document interfaces and develop an Interface Control Document.
• Serve as software development and testing SME.
• Develop unit and interface verification tests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
