Job summary

Vast is developing space stations and space infrastructure, seeking a Components Engineer in Long Beach, CA. You will design and test fluid components and mechanical systems for spacecraft, own propulsion hardware, and collaborate with a world-class production team to translate designs into hardware.

The role requires a Bachelor's and 2+ years in related design/test work, with travel up to 10% to remote sites and vendors. This is a full-time exempt position in Long Beach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or similar engineering.
• 2+ years of design, build, or test experience for mechanisms, structures, valves, or other mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of CAD tools: NX 8.5, PTC Creo, CATIA; GD&T per ASME Y14.5-1994.
• Experience with FEMAP or ANSYS; materials, fatigue, and manufacturing processes.
• Up to 10% travel to remote sites and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, build and test fluid components, electro-mechanical hardware, and fluid systems for spacecraft.
• Own propulsion hardware/systems and ensure proper hardware handling.
• Collaborate with production to translate designs into spacecraft.
