Job summary

Intuitive Machines seeks a Spacecraft Communications Engineer in Greenbelt, MD to support JPSS mission operations. You will become SME for the JPSS-4 communications subsystem, participate in readiness activities, and help develop operations tools for 24/7 coverage during testing and the 90-day LEO period.

The role requires a STEM degree and 3+ years of related space systems experience, with Python or C/C++ proficiency and ability to pass a government background check.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 3+ years of related experience.
• Minimum 2 years of spacecraft operations experience at the subsystem level or higher.
• Experience with OS/Comet Telemetry, Tracking, and Control (TT&C) system preferred.
• Python or C/C++ experience preferred.
• Must be able to pass a Government background investigation.
• Must be able to support 24/7 operations (8+ hour shifts) during testing and rehearsals as well as the 90-day LEO&A period.

• Support the MOST in Launch and Early Orbit (LEO) activities.
• Support product development of the Communications subsystem products and the development of operations tools.

About the Position:

Intuitive Machines is seeking a Spacecraft Communications Engineer on the NASA OMES III contract in support of the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) program at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The position is located in Lanham, MD.

Responsibilities:

• Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the JPSS-4 Spacecraft Communications subsystem to support the JPSS Mission Operations Support Team (MOST).
• Crosstrain and backup a designated JPSS-4 subsystem to support the JPSS Mission Operations Support Team (MOST).

  • Readiness activities require working 8+ hour shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays for up to 7 days.

Preferred Qualifications
