Job summary

Varda Space Industries seeks a Build Reliability Engineer II to partner with design and manufacturing to scale spacecraft hardware production. You will ensure reliable hardware, support Quality, Flight Reliability, and Mission Assurance, and drive continuous improvement through hands-on problem solving.

The role requires a hands-on engineer with experience in hardware design/test/manufacturing/troubleshooting and a collaborative, process-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, computer science, electrical, manufacturing, mechanical, or material sciences engineering.
• Hands-on hardware test, qualification, troubleshooting, or failure analysis experience.
• Commitment to lean quality principles without compromising safety or reliability.
• Experience applying process controls in high-volume manufacturing, test, and quality environments.
• Experience generating, processing, and analyzing data for production insight.

Responsibilities

• Partner with design engineering and manufacturing to create test, manufacturability, and inspection plans for vehicle hardware.
• Contain non-conforming product and guide quality inspectors and technicians.
• Lead failure investigations to identify root causes and reduce risk.
• Provide peer review of hardware during design reviews and test campaigns.
• Ensure test coverage, change management, and manufacturability of flight hardware.
• Own vehicle-level deliverables for regulatory requirements and verification evidence.
• Support vehicle-level risk management and mitigations.
