Job summary

Impulse Space is seeking a Battery Engineering Intern in Redondo Beach, CA to support the development of lithium-ion battery packs for space vehicles. You will gain hands-on experience across flight electromechanical devices and multiple engineering disciplines as part of the full product development life cycle.

Qualifications

Recent completion or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Hands-on project experience (e.g., Formula SAE, Design/Build/Fly, Senior Design)
CAD experience (MCAD or ECAD)
Hands-on experience with electronics or electrical test equipment
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment

Responsibilities

Support electrical or structural finite element analysis of electromechanical hardware
Develop battery test hardware
Support qualification testing and pcb bring-up
Support battery assembly
Develop new CAD models
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams
