Job summary

Northwood Space in Torrance, CA is seeking a Supply Chain Operations Intern for the summer of 2027. You will support our satellite ground station manufacturing and deployment, working with complex supply chain systems and precision components.

You’ll analyze inventory and supplier performance, help implement automated tracking, build dashboards, and assist planning initiatives that influence production schedules and deployment timelines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with data to inform operational decisions.
• Proficiency with Excel; experience with dashboards or data visualization tools is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and operational teams.
• Passion for space technology, manufacturing, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement, sourcing, and order tracking for high-tech components critical to ground station production.
• Monitor inventory, analyze trends, and help optimize stock to prevent production delays.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure materials meet technical specifications and quality standards.
• Analyze supplier performance, lead times, and logistics data to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in building dashboards, reports, and automated tracking systems to provide real-time visibility across the supply chain.
• Help implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and mitigate operational risks.
