Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation invites undergraduates in Software Engineering to join the Software Implementation and Integration Department in the ISCD. The internship is full-time and 100% onsite at our El Segundo, CA or Chantilly, VA offices.

You'll work on simulated space systems, building prototypes in Python, Java and C, and partner with an interdisciplinary team on research and development tasks. Mentorship and training are provided through the program.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Availability to work full-time for at least 10 weeks and return to studies afterward.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Experience programming in Python, C/C++, or Java and knowledge of cloud services (AWS or Azure).
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in designing and implementing a simulated space system.
• Develops prototype software in Python, Java and C for space and ground elements.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams on ongoing research programs.
• Applies standard techniques to perform prescribed engineering tasks.
• Training and mentorship will be provided.
