Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist - 2nd Shift to support NASA JETS II contracts in Houston. The role includes performing precision cleaning inspections, ensuring NASA compliance, documenting procedures, and coordinating with cleanroom teams in a 3pm–12am second-shift schedule.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or BS in a related field with strong leadership and communication skills, and experience in a cleanroom or quality assurance environment.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma and 5+ years experience or BS with 5+ years experience
• Minimum of 2 years experience in process control and laboratory operations
• Current NASA IPC workmanship standards certifications

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections on hardware undergoing precision cleaning and contamination control processes.
• Verify compliance with NASA standards (NASA STD 8739.x, JPR 5322.X) with controlled storage and tooling.
• Validate cleanroom process documentation, including hardware traceability, Q codes, material certification and steps.
• Coordinate with cleanroom technicians and managers on priority hardware and throughput expectations.
• Lead root cause analysis efforts (fishbone, 5 Whys) for cleanroom-related nonconformances.
• Assist in CAPA development and verification for PENs opened against cleanroom processes.
• Utilize COSMIC/EDS systems for documentation control and TPS/NCR processing.
• Review and validate procedure usage in a cleanroom environment per current JETS and NASA requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements and transition to electronic documentation where applicable.
• Perform receiving inspections on flight and non-flight aerospace products and support equipment.
