Job summary

Toffler Associates in Bethesda, MD seeks a senior space systems engineer to lead complex client engagements onsite. You bring an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and substantial experience in space systems engineering, mission design, and space operations.

You will apply expertise in satellite constellation operations, orbital mechanics, and space environmental effects to design missions, assess risks, and guide teams to deliver rigorous analyses for national security programs.

Qualifications

• ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TS/SCI Federal or DoD security clearance with a polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, applied physics, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical field
• Master's degree may be used in lieu of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• 6+ years experience in space systems engineering, mission design, or space operations
• Working knowledge of satellite constellation operations, orbital mechanics, and space environmental effects on space-based assets
• Familiarity with satellite subsystems (e.g., power, propulsion, attitude control, communications, payloads) and their vulnerabilities to space environment disturbances
• Understanding of space domain awareness approaches and systems
• Familiarity with space environment sensing modalities (e.g., coronagraphs, magnetometers, particle detectors, ionospheric sounders, GNSS receivers)
• Master's degree or PhD in related fields, with 4+ years of work experience
• 2 years of IC experience including requirements, CONOPS, and transition
• Knowledge of space weather phenomena and their effects on space systems
