Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Space Systems Engineer to join the Hemisphere team, supporting Space Systems Command. You will advise on space system design, control functions, and provide engineering services for SSC’s P&D mission set across orbital mechanics, navigation, and C2 domains.

The role requires DoD experience, MBSE expertise, and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while developing and maintaining acquisition documentation. This position is on-site and contingent on contract award.

Qualifications

• MS in a related science field (orbital mechanics, space physics) with 3+ years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree acceptable with 12+ years in related roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical, acquisition, and operational support across space programs.
• Support all phases of the space acquisition lifecycle: engineering, operations, integration, performance analysis.
• Develop and revise DoD-acquisition documents (CONOPS, ICDs, AoAs, milestone docs).
• Prepare technical and programmatic status reports and briefings.
• Identify improvements to acquisition processes and risk management; support mitigation plans.
• Support cost/schedule performance analysis.
• Review contractor deliverables for compliance; support DCMA surveillance and IMS reconciliation.
• Monitor program schedules and acquisition reporting; ensure requirements are met.
• Participate in design reviews, working groups, IPTs; coordinate with stakeholders.
• Provide mission protection and operational insight; assess anomalies and support readiness reviews.
