Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation, an FFRDC based in Albuquerque, NM, offers an internship as an AFRL Systems Engineer Intern. You will support senior engineers on AFRL/RJ programs, assisting in technology development, mission planning, systems engineering, and operations planning for Space Force collaborations.

The selected candidate will work on-site at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM, gaining hands-on experience across acquisition, testing, and on-orbit operations within a mission-focused team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Master's or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.
• SMART Scholar Fellowship.
• Experience with AFRL/RJE programs.
• Proven ability to work in a self-directed manner with customer personnel on technical, programmatic, and administrative issues.
• Occasional travel required.
• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Transcripts required.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with AFRL/RJE program offices to assist in acquiring space missions from concept to launch and early operations.
• Assist in environmental testing of space hardware, including TVAC, vibration, and EMI/EMC; write test plans, procedures, and post-test reports.
• Support on-orbit operations for select missions.
