Job summary

Trinzic, a spin-off from KBR, is seeking a Space Systems Engineer specializing in Chemical & Process Systems (ECLSS, Food Systems & ISRU) in Titusville, FL. You will provide systems engineering, integration, and technical oversight for NASA exploration programs and advance lunar ISRU and related chemical/process systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be independent and effective in a government/contractor team environment.
• Understanding of the systems development lifecycle (requirements, design, V&V, operations) and its application to multidisciplinary engineering systems.
• Experience supporting technology development, technology maturation, or demonstration programs through concept development, design, testing, and operational implementation.
• Experience applying chemical/process engineering principles, such as process flows, mass and energy balances, fluid systems, thermal processes, separation processes, reaction systems, or electrochemical systems, to system design or analysis.
• Ability to present technical findings, recommendations, and analyses to engineering teams, program management, customers, and senior leadership.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated sustained superior performance.
• Available to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering, integration, and technical oversight support for NASA exploration, ISS, CLD, and technology programs.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to advance ISRU, ECLSS, space food systems, chemical/process systems.
• Apply systems engineering principles to the development, integration, testing, and maturation of space-based process technologies.
• Develop and manage requirements, CONOPS, test plans, and other technical documentation.
• Lead specification development, configuration management, interface management, verification, validation, and baseline control activities.
• Evaluate impacts of new requirements and design changes and integrate into baselines.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, schedule, and integration risks.
• Support proposal evaluations, design reviews, and technical assessments.
• Develop and manage ICDs and coordinate with customers and contractors on interfaces.
• Support system integration, testing, verification, and validation activities from components to integrated system demonstrations.
• Advise customers on architecture and best practices.
• Present technical positions to engineering teams, program management, and senior leadership.
• Develop technical reports, flow diagrams, mass/energy balances, and other documentation for design and maturation.
• Analyze data to evaluate performance and inform process development.
• Translate findings into actionable engineering recommendations and design updates.
• Perform system-level trade studies addressing architecture, resource flows, and maturation.
• Support integration of chemical and process technologies into space-system architectures.
