Job summary

KBR seeks a Space Suit Design Engineer to support the Space Suit Operations Team on the xEVAS contract in Houston, TX. You will work on developing, building and maintaining space suits and supporting equipment for low Earth orbit and beyond.

The role requires CAD expertise, 3–7 years of engineering experience, and strong collaboration across cross-functional teams. Onsite work at the Johnson Space Center area is required, with opportunities for innovative design in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• 3 to 7 years of experience.
• Onsite work in Houston, TX near Johnson Space Center (77058).
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and team skills.
• Experience using CAD software in design work.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement and analyze technical products and systems using engineering principles.
• Perform design evaluations and trade studies.
• Procure, assemble and test advanced prototypes to inform design decisions.
• Prepare and present designs at design reviews using Word and PowerPoint.
• Produce design documentation and hardware requirements.
• Ensure designs meet requirements and verification plans.
• Support production, evaluate anomalies and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with fabrication and manufacturing to realize final designs.
