Job summary

Axiom Space in Houston is seeking a Power & Thermal Systems Engineer to lead power generation and balance assessments across station configurations for the Commercial Station Program.

The role requires at least 5 years of relevant experience, proficiency with Thermal Desktop and Python tooling, and strong data analytics. You will develop tools, perform trade studies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to inform design decisions and project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience or equivalent combination
• Proficient with Thermal Desktop thermal analysis software
• Experience modeling spacecraft power and thermal systems
• Experience developing Python-based tooling for analysis
• Strong database and data architecture skills
• Experience translating analysis into reports, dashboards, and stakeholder-ready formats
• Track record of delivering in fast-moving environments
• Uses good judgement to solve problems and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Conduct power generation analysis across station configurations using Thermal Desktop
• Perform power balance assessments based on generation and consumption profiles
• Maintain version-controlled scripts and tooling (Git)
• Maintain databases for power consumption data and heat sink projections
• Develop Python/MATLAB tooling for physics-based assessments
• Perform trade studies and what-if analyses for power/thermal performance
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to validate inputs
• Communicate project progress and issues to stakeholders and leadership
• Implement and maintain agile project management
• Perform additional duties as assigned
