Job summary

York Space Systems seeks a talented engineer to lead the SRE and DevSecOps team within the Simulation, Integration and Test Department, driving observability and deployment of assets across the space vehicle lifecycle.

The role combines hands-on coding with strategic leadership: manage a 5-10 person team, shape product roadmaps, and collaborate with production, flight software, ground software, and mission operations to deliver reliable, scalable software for launch programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of SRE and DevSecOps experience.
• 3+ years managing an engineering team.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code.
• Proficiency with cloud deployment environments.
• Proficiency in Linux system administration.
• Experience with SQL/InfluxDB/MongoDB.
• Experience leading production-grade software projects.
• Strong communication and prioritization across multiple products.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 5-10 engineers with direction and performance management.
• Set priorities across multiple products and engineering leads.
• Stay hands-on and review engineers' code.
• Lead design, development, deployment, maintenance, and support of products.
• Own roadmaps and release cadence across platforms.
• Communicate status, risks and trade-offs to SIT leadership.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams for product stability.
• Design trainings for observability products for stakeholders.
• Coordinate deployment requests from external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD standards.
• Gather feedback and requirements for features and fixes.
• Monitor releases and ensure deployment stability.
