Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a Metrology Specialist to maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot metrology tools used to measure cell thickness, sheet resistance, lifetime, and efficiency in the solar cell production line for Starlink programs. The role requires hands-on work in a cleanroom environment and collaboration with engineering teams.

Day shift positions involve startup/shutdown procedures, data trend monitoring, and disposition of nonconforming cells.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency required; hands-on technical experience preferred.
  • 2+ years in a metrology/inspection role or associate degree in STEM with related experience preferred.
  • Experience with metrology or inspection tools in semiconductor, solar, or precision manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot metrology equipment including IV testers, photoluminescence (PL) systems, AOI tools, sheet resistance meters, thickness measurement tools, and lifetime testers.
  • Perform routine calibration, verification, and preventive maintenance on tools supporting texturing, PECVD, PVD, metallization, and final testing steps.
  • Monitor metrology data trends, identify deviations, and support root cause analysis to ensure cell parameters meet targets.
  • Work with engineering teams to develop SOPs and improve measurement accuracy and repeatability.
  • Execute startup/shutdown procedures and maintain equipment in ISO-classified cleanroom environments.
  • Support production by dispositions on nonconforming cells based on metrology results.
