Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Vehicle Engineering Team. You will own the hardware design, build, test/analysis, and integration of primary/secondary structures and space mechanisms throughout cradle-to-grave development.

You will work with cross-functional teams to define roadmaps, perform analyses, specify components, and produce manufacturing drawings. The role includes growth opportunities and exposure to next-gen propulsion hardware.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software and ability to learn new tools.
• Ability to model complex shapes including lofting and surfacing.
• Experience with hardware fabrication and testing.
• Experience collaborating across teams.

Mansioni

• Own hardware development from concept through launch.
• Develop cradle-to-grave road map for hardware.
• Define loads and perform structural design choices.
• Conduct hand calculations, FEA, and kinematic analyses.
• Source components to support design intent.
• Incorporate manufacturing trades into design options.
