Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking Associate Propulsion Engineer and Propulsion Engineer to join the Propulsion Engineering Team in Promontory, UT (or nearby locations). The role covers design, analysis, testing, and documentation of propulsion systems, with opportunities to work across multiple disciplines.

Qualified candidates will have degrees in mechanical, chemical, materials, or aerospace engineering, and must be able to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials or Aerospace Engineering or related STEM field.
Master’s degree preferred for Propulsion Engineer position.
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Ability to obtain Special Access Program access as required by the business needs.

Responsibilities

Assist in development and analysis of propulsion system components, including rocket motors, nozzles, materials and propellant grains.
Perform engineering calculations and simulations to predict propulsion performance (CFD, thermal, structural).
Support test planning, execution and post-test analysis documentation.
Contribute to design documents, 3D CAD models and drawings, test plans and reports.
Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
