Job summary

Bastion is seeking a Safety Diver to support the space program in Houston, TX. The role involves assisting divers, training in various diving functions, and supporting chamber operations and SCUBA fill.

Candidates must have US citizenship or permanent resident status, a high school diploma, 1+ years of diving experience (≈25 logged dives), and a recognized diving certification (PADI/NAUI). Strong physical dexterity and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have 1+ years of recent diving experience/approximately 25 logged dives.
• Must have a Certification in the field of Diving (PADI, NAUI).
• This position requires physical dexterity in handling and moving objects underwater, communicating visually, speaking and hand signals, controlling mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Assist other divers, train in different roles, and become certified in diving functions (safety diver, camera diver).
• Support chamber operations and scuba fill.
• Train and certify in Lifeguard, BBP, CPR and First Aid; assist as rigging equipment coordinator.
• Communicate with workers in water and surface while underwater.
• Monitor dive lengths and depths and follow safety procedures.
