Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer focused on Space Power Systems to lead design, integration, and test of electrical power storage hardware for spacecraft. The role centers on batteries, BMS, and power electronics to deliver flight-ready power storage solutions.

You will develop system-level requirements, guide hardware design, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams across milestones and reviews to ensure robust performance in challenging space environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in power storage system design, integration, and test.
• Strong hardware design for electrical power storage applications.
• Hands-on experience with batteries and BMS.
• Proficiency in electrical, analog and digital circuit design.
• Experience with hardware test and validation of electrical power storage systems.
• Proficient use of test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic load banks, power supplies, power analyzers).
• Experience with integration and test of electrical power storage hardware within larger systems.
• Ability to develop and execute comprehensive test plans and integration strategies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to system-level requirements for electrical power storage subsystems.
• Design electrical power storage hardware including batteries, conversion circuits, and fault protection.
• Develop integration plans for power storage equipment with spacecraft avionics.
• Create detailed test plans and procedures to verify performance and reliability.
• Design and implement test systems using appropriate equipment to validate hardware designs.
• Coordinate interface control documents between power hardware and other subsystems.
• Evaluate supplier issues, identify risks, and develop recovery strategies.
• Support milestone reviews with technical input and status updates.
• Communicate project progress and potential issues to stakeholders.
