Job summary

Overview Energy is seeking a Policy Intern to explore how space solar energy operations are governed and how to translate complex policy into actionable guidance. You will research the policy landscape and identify DoW sites for testing, producing material that makes this technology understandable to warfighters and engineers.

You'll draft CONOPS language, support engagement with DoW, and help ensure the manual and briefing materials are clear and accessible.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in public policy, government, international affairs, communications, or related field.
Demonstrated interest in defense, space, or energy policy through coursework, clubs, writing, or internships.
Ability to write clearly for non-expert audiences and translate directives into actionable text.

Responsibilities

Research U.S. policy and regulation governing space operations and ground-based beacon activities.
Identify and profile DoW sites for current and future testing, including access and airspace considerations.
Prepare briefing material, capture feedback, and route it into CONOPS and design.
Draft an operator manual written for warfighters, not engineers.
Create materials that make space solar energy concepts easy to understand.
Track DoW expectations and flag gaps early.
