Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Rochester, NY is seeking an In-Process Optical Inspector to perform visual and dimensional inspections of space flight optical components and assemblies.

You will interpret drawings and specifications, document results, and support root-cause investigations while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with CMM or Romer Arm inspections.
• Familiarity with NASA Standards, IPC certifications, GD&T preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise inspections.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, specs, and work instructions to validate inspection criteria.
• Document inspection results clearly and accurately.
• Complete final inspection reports as required.
• Maintain quality inspection plans and procedures.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to communicate quality issues.
