Space Operations Training Instructor
KBR is seeking a highly experienced Space Operations Training and Standards Instructor to support an emerging national security space capability. This individual will partner directly with government stakeholders to develop, deliver, and continuously improve operational training programs that prepare the next generation of space warfighters. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted training expert responsible for instructional system design, curriculum development, satellite operator qualification training, mission certification standards, training management, and student performance assessment. The role requires extensive operational space experience, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to operate within highly classified environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update Plans of Instruction (POI).
- Design and improve qualification, advanced, and upgrade training curricula.
- Create and update courseware, lesson plans, practical exercises, and evaluation materials.
- Ensure all training products align with applicable Space Force and DoD guidance.
- Deliver satellite operator qualification training.
- Facilitate approximately three major training classes annually.
- Evaluate student performance and provide remediation recommendations.
- Maintain accurate training documentation and certification records.
- Manage classroom scheduling, student administration, and instructional resources.
- Develop and maintain training reports and metrics.
- Coordinate staffing and approval of training products with government stakeholders.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Develop Mission Essential Tasks (METs).
- Assist with mission directives, policies, procedures, and operational guidance.
- Support readiness and standardization programs aligned with Space Force training frameworks.
Qualifications
- Required: An active TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility is required to be considered for this position, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
- 10+ years of space operations experience.
- 10+ years of instructional experience, training development, or training management.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Experience developing training products in operational mission environments.
- Desired: Master's degree.
- Former Space Force, Air Force Space Command, NRO, or related national security space experience.
- Instructor, Evaluator, Weapons, Standards & Evaluation, or Training Flight experience.
- Expertise in satellite operations and crew certification processes.
- Experience applying Instructional System Design principles.

Work Environment
- Location: On-site at Beale AFB, CA.
- Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
- Working Hours: Standard Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40hrs
- Basic Compensation: $160,000 - $180,000 This range is for California only. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
